I was born and raised in Germany, but have lived in San Diego since 2005. I was blessed to have a midwife for the birth of my first son in Germany and never forgot the wonderful support I received from her.

After that I wanted to become a midwife, too, but life happened and I became a teacher, and later on a nurse instead.

When I found out about Doulas during my nursing school, I realized that this is the perfect job to combine both teaching and nursing in order to support women during the most important time of their lives. I became certified with DONA in 2023 and have since been volunteering with Operation Doula, serving military families.

What I love the most about being a Doula is the ability to focus completley on the wishes of the new mother, without distractions of having to chart or giving medications, without having to rush to another patient or clocking off because my shift is over.

I believe that every woman deserves a doula. Every woman deserves to be supported during her labor and delivery experience, supported to have the birth she envisions, and never having to go through labor alone, never feeling as if she is just a number in a highly functioning Labor and Delivery department. I will advocate for every one of my clients to make sure her wishes are heard and respected.
